SavvySchool Basic Training™ #2: Learning the Anatomy of your SavvyCard® Web App
It’s way easier to figure out than Biology, we promise!
Last week’s blog walked you through SavvySchool Basic Training #1: Taking the steps to activate, find and save your SavvyCard® web app. Now that your SavvyCard web app is easily accessible on your phone, let’s talk about its parts so you understand how it works and how to use it.
The Parts of your SavvyCard® Web App
- URL (or website address) – Your SavvyCard web app – we’ll simply call it your SavvyCard from now on – lives on the web instead of on your phone or computer. Unlike most real estate apps, you didn’t need to download and install software in order to put it on your phone – you simply “bookmark” it to your phone’s home screen using an icon shortcut. Your SavvyCard has its own URL, or web address. Since YOUR account is unique from other accounts, your SavvyCard has a unique URL. Because your SavvyCard lives on the web, search engines are able to index it and include it in web search results. It also looks – and works – great on any web-enabled device.
- Buttons – People come to your SavvyCard to DO things: contact you, refer you to other people, search MLS listings, contact vendors you recommend, connect with you on social media, and other things that facilitate business. Each button on a SavvyCard was designed to DO something that is beneficial for both you and your customer.
- Background – SavvyCards were designed to include big graphics to engage people so they instantly connect with your brand (people are more likely to engage with something visually interesting). Your SavvyCard comes with a background designed by your REALTOR® organization.

Getting Familiar with Your SavvyCard® Web App in 5 Easy Steps
- Launch your SavvyCard on your phone or other device by tapping the app icon (if you forgot how to do this, contact us).
- Once it’s opened, tap the “Call” button on your phone, and then compare how this button behaves when you click it on your desktop computer instead (and/or your tablet, if you have one)*. The Call button is how someone would call you using your SavvyCard.
*SAVVY TIP: SavvyCards are “smart” and know that type of device you’re on so they’ll display different information on different devices. - Click on the “Email” button to open the overlay. This is how someone would email you using your SavvyCard.
- Click on the “Text” button. This is how someone would text you using your SavvyCard.
- Click on the “Share” button. This is how someone would send your card to themselves or to another person.
*SAVVY TIP: The more you use your SavvyCard and the more you and other people share it, the more “important” it appears to search engines, and the higher it will be placed in search results.
